THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Wellington B. Dantas has a technical background in telecommunications and computer technologies.
He experimented with black and white photography in the 1970s, but only in 2005 did he begin an effective production of photographs using digital technology, incorporating techniques from contacts with renowned Brazilian photographers such as Altair Hope, Márcio Scavoni, Clício Barroso, Walter Firmo, and many others.
He produced documentary and corporate work for large Brazilian companies, frequently working in the theater field with various coverages of plays and festivals in Recife (Brazil), between 2008 and 2011.
He participated in several group and solo exhibitions, namely: "Pernambuco invites Ceará" at Arte Plural Galeria (Recife 2011), "Brazilian Dance Movement" at the Cristóbal Colón Theater in Bogotá, with photos of performances by Brazilian dancers (Colombia 2019), "Paints on Water" at Espaço Kreatori (Lisbon 2024), "Echo-logies", in duet with photographer Adriano Fagundes, promoted by Nova Banca Galeria (Lisbon 2025), "Prayer to Time", group exhibition at CasaOxente Galeria (Lisbon 2026).
Currently, he resides in Portugal and dedicates himself to artistic architectural photography.
